Violin Technique Workshop by Prof. Tseng Keng Yuen (Taiwan)

As the artist-in-residence of Wu-Ling Senior High School strings week, Prof. Tseng Keng Yuan has extended an invitation to Forté’s students and teachers to attend the violin technique workshop .

During the 3-day workshop, Prof. Tseng delved into the basics of violin technique class, and the art of practising, explored selected Kreutzer etude and introduced some of the famous violinists from the Golden Age of violin playing. Learning also took place through observation of masterclasses and concert presented by the students of the Wu-Ling Senior High School students. It was an eye-opener for our students to witness such high level music-making and commitment showcased by these Taiwanese high school students. A closing exchange between students from both countries allows the students to learn more about different views and perspective towards music performance and education.

We hope through musical exposures like this, the students do not only improve on the technicalities of playing their instrument but also realise that the possibilities to better music- making are endless and continue to be inspired beyond the walls of the studios!
