Melaka Concert Tour: Forté Camerata - MYSO exchange

Forté Camerata was delighted to collaborate with the Melaka Youth String Orchestra (MYSO) for a weekend of musical encounter from the 21- 24 of March 2019 in Melaka, Malaysia.

The weekend culminated in two performances - a concert for the children of The Little Lamb School, Tengkera, Melaka and a charity performance in aid of The Little Lamb School, which is the first hostel of its kind in Melaka with more than two hundred Orang Asli Children. They are in great need of funds for the students to continue schooling and the success of the school depends on donations by various agencies and the public.

Besides performing, the students also got to interact with the children from the Little Lamb school through some games and activities. Even though language was a barrier, the children tried to use alternative methods to communicate with each.

Throughout the exchange, new friendship bonds were formed through music-making, fun activities, learning and exploring the town Melaka. As students share their talents and realise the positive impact they are able to have on others in the community through music, we are quite certain it was a memorable and enriching experience for all.
