Karen Wong, co-founder of Forte Musicademy is a strong believer that holistic, systematic and good foundations in music are important for every musician.

Karen graduated with honors from the University of Wales. In her course of studies, she was awarded Yo Kiang Beng Music Scholarship, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Degree Studies Scholarship and Best Graduate. She was a lecturer at NAFA teaching Harmony and Practical Musicianship for 8 years. She was also a faculty member of the School of Young Talent in NAFA teaching piano, theory and aural. In addition, she was one of the pioneer teachers in establishing the music program in NAFA Arts Kindergarten.

Following her teaching stint at NAFA, Karen partnered with Chan Chee Mee to establish Forte Musicademy. Karen has been the Director as well as Head of Keyboard, Curriculum and Academics of the school since 2010.

Her dedication has nurtured numerous musicians, with students winning top awards such as National Piano and Violin Competition, Steinway Youth Piano Competition, ABRSM high scorer, Hedy King Robinson Prize and numerous solo piano competitions and chamber music competitions. Karen's experience in piano pedagogy throughout more than two decades of teaching has provided her with strong analytical skills to aid in educating and imparting music skills effectively to students of all levels, including those with learning difficulties such as dyslexic, dyspraxia, ADD, ADHD and autism.
